Triage Corp an Arizona Engineering company which commercially endeavors for solutions
in Renewable Energy has the following announcement.
Triage aims for an initial application of its proprietary turbine technology with a product line
called the FirePlug I™ series.
The specifics of this product line are for small scale steam driven power generation. A
FirePlug I™ will consist of a Triage Turbine coupled with an electric generator to form small
scale Gensets in the ½ to 10 Kw range.
This product offering is intended to bring productive value to a range of low grade thermal
energy sources, such as solar, landfill methane, geothermal and small scale biomass.
The FirePlug I™ series is designed for maximum continuous operation with steam
pressures to 200 psig and temperatures to 500 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Expected overall efficiency of Steam to Electric Power for the FirePlug I™ is 80%.
Target Pricing for the FirePlug I™ will range between $700.00 and $3,500.00 for ½ Kw to
10 Kw units respectively.
To give perspective, a single 10Kw Fireplug I™, plumbed directly to a tracking trough
collector in a closed system, operating at 100 psia and 500 Deg F would yield ~12 – 14%
net thermal efficiency and cost ~$1.00 / Kw. The convenience of this configuration
eliminates the need for interconnect trough plumbing to a central large scale turbine and the
associated reservoirs of heat collection fluid. Rather, each trough becomes a stand alone
Rankine power plant.
Direct Sales to the public will not necessarily be so straight forward, due to compliance
standards and liability of residential steam power producing equipment. Triage does intend
to seek alignment with existing service providers for a jump start into private commercial
and utility applications.
